111 – Tea

When I thanked them, he responded with,

“This is our thanks for the delicious jam.”

I happily rushed back home.

After putting it in the incubator, I returned to the Mitsui house with some hiratori fruits.

Cut some and let’s have it with tea.

“I knew it, the tea uncle makes is delicious after all.”

“Hahaha, I’m glad you think that. You brought a really delicious fruit, so I have to, right?”

“If that’s true, then I grow it in my garden anyways, I will bring it here again.”

I was stopped by Aunt Mitsui as I finished saying that.

“Is the fruit still there? If it is, can I get some?”

And she said that.

112 – Crack

I ran back to the house, stuffed as much as I could into my bag and went back to the Mitsui house.

“Aunt! I brought it.”

And as I passed it to her,

“Thank you, I was actually thinking about making a little jelly.”

I nodded.

“After it’s done, I’ll put in the refrigerator at your house.”

“Thank you! I love the sweets you make.”

We laughed with each other a little and the tea party was over.

Now, for the incubator,

I heard from Uncle Mitsui that it takes around three weeks to hatch.

However, when I reached home, it was already cracked.

113 – Chick

I quickly removed the egg from the incubator and the egg hatched in my hand.

Because this egg was special, I was thinking that it was going to be a monster.

However, contrary to my expectations, it was a blue-haired chick.

“Coloured chick? No, cute is cute.”

It squeals as it walks around on my palm.

It’s not that it’s not cute.

I was thinking of building a small shack outside.

There is only one of you and you’re so small, so I need to rethink about you getting lonely.

I pulled out a drawer of my old clothes and packed them away to make the chick a home.

114 – Cucumber leaf

“Hmm, what does this chick eat?”

If it was an ordinary chick then it might’ve been okay with commercially available food…

But this thing was born from a mysterious egg in the dungeon.

It may only eat very specific foods, I don’t know.

While I was thinking that, the blue chick jumped out the drawer and I followed it out to the garden.

“Oi! That’s dangerous!”

I said, but the chick didn’t stop until it reached the place I planted the cucumbers in.

Then it began to pluck the leaves that were still attached to the plant.

115 – Bait

Are you eating those leaves? I check its mouth to see.

It looks like it was eating the small insects there.

“Oi Oi, don’t overstuff yourself, I’ll buy you proper food tomorrow.”

Pi! It replied in a small voice.

The next morning, I immediately headed to the supermarket.

For the coloured chick I came to buy unohana* (卯の花).

I bought it, but can a bird eat unohana?

“Hmm, can you eat it? Let’s go to the pet store just in case.”

Then at the pet shop, I bought some multigrain feed.

116 – New Species

Returning home, I put the chick in a backpack and went to the Mitsui house.

“Uncle, are you in?”

As I called,

“Oh, come in, come in.”

I heard this reply.

Uncle was sweating while watching TV.

Is it after work…

As I stopped there, the chick jumped out of the bag.

“It’s the first time I’ve seen a creature like this. It must be a new species, it has to be since it hatched in a day.”

That.

I nod to his statement.

“Is unohana and multigrain feed good for it?”

I asked.

117 – Naming

I got a reply from the uncle.

As I said my thanks and was about to leave, I was stopped by Uncle.

“Satoshi, why don’t you give it a name?”

That’s right, I regret to admit that I completely forgot.

“Thank you for reminding me, I’ll think of a name.”

So I replied.

When thinking about what to name it, I was worried about whether it was a male or female.

Then I remembered that I could just appraise it.

Now that I think about it, I’m getting more careless.

118 – Aoi

I used appraisal.

Blue Chicken: Can be raised.

Was displayed.

I see, judging from the name, it can be raised just like a normal chicken.

I decided to name the chick ‘Aoi’.

It’s simple, but I wanted to give her a cute name because it was a girl.

The appearance of such a cute chick changed after just one night.

“Ah… Eh? Aoi?”

When asked, it replied enthusiastically.

The mature, transparent blue wings were beautiful.

119 – Sapphire

“The feathers despite looking hard are quite soft to the touch.”

Because it looked like beautifully cut sapphire.

No wonder it looks hard.

What is with these wings? As I said that, Aoi’s green eyes were looking at me.

“Aoi, I’m going out for a little bit, be a good kid, ok?”

I tried going in the dungeon but Aoi came flying and rested on my shoulder.

“Well, looks like I can’t help it.”

120 – Predation

Run away if it’s dangerous, okay? I said as we went down the stairs.

While I was hunting the rabbits, Aoi suddenly jumped from my shoulder and towards a caterpillar.

“Aoi, it’s dangerous!”

I was too late though, Aoi bathed in the caterpillar’s acid head on.

I tried to finish off the rabbit and run over to Aoi.

Aoi shook her body and then pecked the caterpillar.

Then, slowly the caterpillar shrunk and was devoured by Aoi.

“Ah?... Eh? Huh??”

*TN: Okara
Okarasoy pulp, or tofu dregs is a pulp consisting of insoluble parts of the soybean that remains after pureed soybeans are filtered in the production of soy milk and tofu. It is generally white or yellowish in color. It is part of the traditional cuisines of JapanKorea, and China. Since the 20th century, it has been used in the vegetarian cuisines of Western nations.

This is what Wikipedia gave me. It said Unohana redirected to this, or either the cypress flower. But since it was used as a food reference I think Okara is the correct one.

TN 2: The author uses really weird sentences. -_-

101 – Bashed

“Well… did that do it?”

Pterosaur Thigh Meat: Prepared Pterosaur thigh meat

“Yeah… it’s dead.”

What will I do if all the monsters on the fourth floor were like this?

I resumed my searching but I didn’t find a Pterosaur again.

However I saw a leech coming from above.

What the hell is this floor’s hierarchy!?

Moreover, this leech drops nothing even when killed.

And if you’re bitten, the blood flow will stop and that area will become itchy!

“Damn it, I swear, if I find the guy who made this dungeon, I’m going to bash him!”

102 – Level ※10

I couldn’t find the stairs, so I stopped and went back home.

I cut the Pterosaur thigh meat and soaked it in garlic soy sauce.

I checked my level,

Level: ※10 HP: 105 Skills: Appraisal, Good Luck (Minor)

“Wow! It went up by 4?”

And what the hell is ※? It never appeared before this.

There were many things to worry about, but for the time being, I put the useful acid back into the pouch.

I need to hunt more centipedes, but I don’t know how to find them.

103 – Apex

“Well, what should I do?”

I remembered some of the fights I’ve had.

To be honest, I’m surprised I managed to survive this long.

My lucky punches cannot last much longer.

I guess they only work because of the Good Luck (Minor) skill that I accidently got.

This time I was lucky enough to defeat the Pterosaur.

It’s almost like swallowing the Giant Lizard’s meat, the highest creature on the food chain at the moment.

If it’s that, then I can do it.

Because their numbers are small, I’ll do it near the stairs.

104 – Quiet

After that, I tried exploring the fourth floor many times over the next few days.

Pterosaurs have not appeared again.

Instead a lot of Giant Lizards appeared.

I defeated many monsters, but my level doesn’t seem to be going up.

Maybe the ※ means that I’ve reached the upper limit of levels.

“Hmm, is this any use on this layer?”

While looking for the stairs for the fifth layer, I encountered a rabbit.

“Yeah, it’s nice to walk around this peacefully.”

Since the Giant Lizard has not arrived, I also finally feel some peace and quiet.

105 – Marble

The stairs to the fifth floor were easier to find than I expected.

When I passed through the invisible wall, the scenery around me was cut away.

“Nmm, this dungeon has no continuity.”

I went down the stairs but the structure of the floor was entirely similar to the second floor.

The only difference was that it was bright in here.

“There is nothing here…why?”

I searched small rooms hiding behind corners but nothing came out.

At that time, a small clicking sound was heard from one of the small rooms.

Looking back, in the middle of the small room, something like a little marble was rolling around.

106 – Flicker

I tried poking the marble with my foot but nothing happened.

It doesn’t seem that dangerous, so I pick it up to look at it.

There was a sudden light that came out of it and during that it jumped into my eye.

“Aaa! It’s dazzling! Eh? It doesn’t hurt?”

It was dazzling, but it wasn’t painful.

For the time being, I kept flickering my eyes until it settled down.

It went away after a while and I was able to see what was in front of me.

I rubbed my eyes, just to make sure there was nothing wrong with them.

The floorboard was removed by lifting up the tatami mat.

In addition, the cucumber’s pillar that was messed up.

“Yep, it’s my house.”

107 – Second Lap

For the time being, when I apply appraisal,

Level: 10 HP: 105 Skills: Appraisal, Good Luck (Minor)

It was gone.

“Hmm? The ※ is gone.”

It’s still day out, so I’ll dive into the dungeon again.

There were rabbits and caterpillar on the first layer.

“I understand, so it’s like this.”

However, the difference from before is that the rabbit would’ve been feeding on the caterpillar.

At first, I try to beat the rabbit, but I can’t do it.

I try to be on the offensive but only the counter seemed to be taking damage.

108 – On the other Hand

“Damn it!!”

The damage from the rabbit’s attack wasn’t much, but I’m more concerned with the fact that none of my attacks work.

I avoided it and switched the pickaxe with a knife.

Holding the knife on the other hand, I try to pretend to attack with the pickaxe and then hit him with the knife.

I finally hit the rabbit and I was able to beat it.

Then I move onto the caterpillars and continue hunting.

“I still don’t want to see the bats.”

I couldn’t rest as I murmured.

At this time, I cut the rabbit that had jumped over to me with the knife.

It sounded like metals clashing.

109 – Egg

The rabbit disappeared as light but, the drop I got wasn’t the same as the previous one.

It was a translucent pink oval-shaped thing. I could clearly see through it to the other side.

“Is this… an egg?”

Strange thing is that the egg didn’t go in the pouch.

So I went back home and decided to talk to Aunt Okada.

“Hello, Aunt, are you there?”

I called out loud as usual, but looks like they were out, so didn’t hear a reply.

110 – Incubator

I went to Aunt Mitsui’s house right after, and Aunt Okada and the Mitsui couple were chatting.

“Hello!”

“Oh, welcome.”

I came here and laughed along as I mingled into their conversation.

As the conversation ended, I remember I didn’t tell the Mitsui couple about the dungeon.

I told them of the events up until now.

The three of them were very surprised when they saw the egg.

It seems that the Mitsui household used to keep chickens in the past, so I was able to rent out an egg sized incubator.

91 – Broken Prop

“That’s strange, I didn’t see any flowers bloom. Did it grow like a fig?”

When I went to the garden through the veranda, I noticed some of the pillars for the cucumbers were broken.

“Whoa! What happened!?”

It’s a fruit that is still safe even after falling from over 10 meters.

It’s obvious that it would break the pillar after hitting it.

“Still, were the hiratori fruits always this hard?”

The ones I picked up before were so soft that my fingers would sink in when I held them.

I picked up the hiratori fruit from the garden and it felt the same as before?

“Hmm?”

92 – Verification

I feel that strange things will continue happening, so giving up, I start picking up the fruits.

I store everything in the refrigerator and then water the garden.

And then starts today’s dungeon exploration.

Today’s goal is to kill three Giant Lizards and confirm that physical strength rises along with the level.

Level: 6 HP: 75 Skills: Appraisal, Good Luck (Minor)

“Yep, the same as it was.”

I confirmed my level while making my way towards the third floor.

Using my pickaxe I swing at the huge tree.

Kii! Yelled out the rabbit as it came out.

At the same time, a Giant Lizard came out from behind.

93 – To the fourth Layer

I head towards the lizard and attack with my kitchen knife.

After a little resistance, my hand flows through easily.

I remember my previous mistake so I swing my pickaxe behind me.

The rabbit turned into light and disappeared.

“Okay, I’m alright. I’m definitely getting stronger.”

After that, I continued along using the same pattern of hitting the tree and defeating what came out.

“Yes! With this I’ve now confirmed it.”

Now the problem was the location of the stairs, but I had an idea.

If monsters appear by breaking a tree then the stairs must be the same.

I destroyed the largest tree on this floor, and as expected, the stairs appeared.

I took a deep breath and continued down to the fourth floor.

94 – Embarrassed

When I looked back after coming out of the stairs, I saw a huge hole in the large tree.

“I see, so the fourth layer is connected to the third with this tree.”

I was nodding in a place where there was no one else except me.

I realized I was nodding and became a little embarrassed.

When I looked around, the scene was a lot different from the third floor.

The trees were the same kind but were almost double the size.

I tried hitting one with the pickaxe but only a dry sound and shock came back.

95 – Pterosaurs

I looked around and then noticed the huge shadow that was centering on me.

Frightened, I look up.

There was a huge bird.

“Is that a… bird?”

Featherless bodies covered in similar scales like the giant lizards.

It’s almost like…

“Pteranodon…? Pterosaurs*, right?”

Not something I should saying right now.

I rushed towards the stairs.

At least it doesn’t spit fire like they tell in stories.

Seeing its sharp beak, I wasn’t able to keep my calm.

96 – An Insidious Pterosaur

I was able to escape because I wasn’t too far from the stairs.

The Pterosaur was stuck in the entrance hole in the tree.

“Hm? Are you stuck?”

It’s dangerous, so I throw some lizard tails that I got on the third layer.

Gah! Yelling and screaming, the Pterosaur continued to struggle.

There was no sign of it getting out.

“Hmm…”

Considering the fact that the Pterosaur fit into a hole this small and the narrowness of the corridors.

“Can you go?”

I jumped down the stairs even though I was nervous.

97 – Margin

I jumped down and hit the head of the Pterosaur as it was.

A sound of hitting metal sounded out.

“You can’t be serious!”

The Pterosaur was so tough, no matter how many times I hit it, it wouldn’t inflict a single wound.

“Hmm… this is troubling.”

Now I’m glad the Pterosaur is stuck.

Because the stairs were blocked, I couldn’t explore the fourth layer.

Until now, I was looking somewhere else, but the Pterosaur had locked its eyes on me.

“Man…that’s scary.”

98 – Acid solution

My legs start fluttering in front of an enemy that is way above me in strength.

If you can’t move, force yourself to.

“Oh, by the way, is it still there?”

I suddenly remembered the drop item I got when I defeated centipede.

The screaming Pterosaur, is always wide open.

It looks easy enough to throw it in its mouth.

“Hmm, I have no other way to use it, so why not.”

When I searched the pouch there were two such lysate bottles available.

It also contained three such acids.

“Hahaha, be scared!”

99 – Small Work

I can throw as many as them as I want to but it won’t matter if its mouth is closed.

I make a small cut on the lizard’s tail that I got in the third layer and store it there.

Of course during that time, Pterosaur looks down and tries to come here.

Is that understood, I get a little worried.

I wrap the meat in rabbit’s fur so the bottle in the tail does not spill out.

Holding it, I approach the Pterosaur.

“He~y, its food, make sure you eat it nicely.”

As sweat covered my back, I threw the meat in the Pterosaur’s mouth.

100 – Whole Drink

It’s nice if it kicks in, but an unexpected thing happened.

Pterosaur swallowed that meat hole.

“Eh?”

I was biting, hoping that the bottle would break with an impact.

I’m a little worried that something unexpected happened.

I was sweating when I noticed it. And not only my hands but my legs were shaking as well.

However, such a thing is likely to end in melancholy.

The Pterosaur begins to rampage more violently than before.

It went well, and the bottle broke first.

When doing so, the Pterosaur screamed the loudest.

It stopped working.

*TN: A Pterosaur (Found Image on google.)
Pterosaurs were flying reptiles of the extinct clade or order Pterosauria. They existed during most of the Mesozoic: from the late Triassic to the end of the Cretaceous. Pterosaurs are the earliest vertebrates known to have evolved powered flight.
Pterosaurs should have been too big to fly – so how did they ...

81 – Return Home?

I ended up having tea and donut with Aunt on the porch.

Yes, it’s delicious.

Hey see, I said and pointed at the hiratori tree.

“I made the jam using that tree’s fruit, it’s only been two days and the tree has already grown this big.”

“Well, that tree… there’s something really mysterious about it.”

Yes, yes, I nodded as I listened to her.

Such time also came to an end.

I remembered as I bid her farewell.

“Aunt, I have a lot of meat I can secure in the dungeon, should I bring some back?”

82 – Warehouse

“Ah, is it okay? That place feels kind of dangerous?”

We talked a lot about the dungeon so, I was a little shy.

“It’s okay. I got a lot yesterday and I can’t eat all of it alone.”

So I showed the buckets full of meat that I stored in the warehouse.

“Dungeon meat doesn’t go bad so it’s not a problem to have a lot.”

Her smile twitched looking at the warehouse.

83 – Time Zone

I parted with Aunt Okada and headed towards the third layer again.

“Ah, finally its day time, a dark forest is indeed scary!”

I’m looking for the similar tree crevices like the ones I found last night, but I’ve yet to find any.

“That’s weird? I was sure I saw many of them last night…”

I rest my back on the trunk and the crunching sound is definitely there.

Maybe, all or some of the monsters are following different time zones.

“But, if that happens…”

It turns out that there is a way to get these monsters out of their trees.

84 – Cowardly Lizard

“Okay, let’s try it!”

I grabbed the pickaxe and swung it at the tree.

A hole was opened in the tree trunk and a rabbit jumped out from it.

“Okay, so it was you…”

Almost at the same time as I murmured this, it came out of the grass from behind me.

The Giant Lizard.

“So this is how it works, I won’t let you get away this time!”

Level: 6 HP: 75 Skill: Appraisal, Good Luck (Minor)

I confirmed my level that I raised by hunting bats and I stood in front of the rabbit.

“HaHa, cowardly lizard, Come on!”

85 – Strength of the level

The giant lizards while facing me growls out a threatening sound.

“The perfect target for my experiment has arrived. Let’s see just how much my basic abilities have increased with the level!”

Jumping up, I swing the pickaxe towards the lizard.

The lizard tries to avoid it, but not as quickly as it used to.

The pickaxe pierces the head that was protected by scales rather easily.

“Ah, eh?”

The lizard makes a last whimper and then disappears.

“Is this the power of my level? No, I still can’t be sure.”

86 – Lizard’s Tail

While I was confused, I was suddenly attacked from behind.

“That hurt!”

I fell forwards due to the shock and when I looked back, the culprit was a rabbit.

“I forgot… that’s right, your house was destroyed.”

After taking care of the rabbit, I looked at the items dropped by the lizard.

Giant Lizard’s Hide: Very sturdy lizard’s hide.

Giant Lizard’s Tail: Under processed Lizard’s tail.

I see, it’s a new food item.

“But, for the lizard… or its tail rather, how do I cook them?”

87 – Smoked

“Okay, I’ll try smoking it.”

The lizard’s tail alone is 60cms, so I’ll end today’s exploration here.

Back at the house, just in case I’ll inform the fire department before starting.

Since the Mitsui Family and the Okada Family don’t live that close, there won’t be any problems with the smoke.

Since there is no actual smoker here, just bring out the brazier and light up the charcoal.

Place the lizard’s tail on the net and cover with a bowl.

I worried about the fat falling on the flame, but it can’t be helped this time.

“Still, over half of it is left, is it okay to save it?”

88 – Stripped cucumber

I leaned my back against the hiratori tree that has grown more than 10 metres.

I chew on stripped cucumber as I sit here worrying about the smoker.

“Un, I wonder if its fine.”

The crunchy texture and the slightly green colour the cucumber leaves is pleasant.

“Ah, bad. Did I fall asleep?”

As I hurriedly removed the bowl, a brown coloured tail was revealed.

“Ha, I’m glad there was no fire, I’ll need to find a way to pass the time.”

I wanted to try a bite. The hardness before cutting was so non-existent I almost didn’t believe it.

89 – Sake

“Hmm, the smoky smell! I can’t stop myself!”

It would be great if I had sake with it.

“Well, I can’t drink anything that’s not sweet, so it doesn’t matter!”

If I drank wine or whiskey, a new world may have opened up for me.

But this is all there is to it.

A sore throat that reeks of alcohol.

You shouldn’t drink unless you enjoy it.

It’s rude to the sake, the farmer and most of all the people who worked hard for it.

90 – Fall

I packed the remaining meat from the brazier into a bag and refrigerated it.

“Next, if I can beat the lizards, I’ll move onto the next floor.”

I dove into my futon and didn’t leave till morning.

Before the alarms even sounded, a loud thud woke me up.

“Hmm, what?”

I haven’t heard anything about a moving neighbour or any construction.

I was worried because I had no idea, but I understood as soon as I looked into the garden.

Some hiratori fruits were laying around.

Perhaps, this was the sound of them falling.

Prev   Index   Next

71 – I can’t sleep

Speaking of hollow trees, weren’t the hiratori trees in the dungeon also the same.

And this is the place where I sprinkled the skin of the hiratori fruit.

There is no doubt in my mind.

Looking at the cucumber, looks like I chose a wrong place to plant them.

After dinner and a bath I dove straight into bed.

I’m going dive again but first, I’m going to take a long nap.

Well, it’s still early and I’m not sleepy, I can’t sleep.

“Well, I’ve decided not to go today…”

While murmuring that I stepped into the dungeon.

72 – Pitch Black Forest

I reached the third layer without encountering anything.

Is it in sync with the outside world? The floor is pitch black.

I started the search, carefully paying attention to my feet.

Since there’s no proper path I’ll just move through the grass.

Of course, it makes a similar sound.

I wonder if I’ve just announced my location to the other monsters.

The pitch dark forest is surrounded by large trees.

I occasionally hear the sounds of insects around me.

All of this makes me incredibly anxious.

“Hah, the forest at night is scary…”

73 – Crunchy

I took a small break resting my back on a large tree.

From here, I can’t even see the passage leading to the third floor.

Though my mind wandered off for a bit, I was snapped back into reality when I heard something inside the hollow trunk of the tree.

A crunching sound like something scratching was heard from the inside.

I knocked on the tree and the sound stopped.

What was it?

“Hmm, there’s no use thinking about it too much, I’ll find out eventually.”

Then from the top of the tree above my head, I heard a squeaking sound.

74 – Weapon

As soon as I heard that sound, I jumped ahead.

I turned around and there was a centipede, making it my second encounter with the creature.

“Now that I think about it, I didn’t appraise the item that I got from the previous one.”

I hadn’t tested as the purple colour of the bottle looked poisonous.

I think centipedes do look poisonous, so it probably is.

Considering it’s a drop from the caterpillar, this too cannot be stated definitely.

“I’m glad I have appraisal…”

If I knew the opponents weapons, I could understand how to fight them, so I continued.

75 – Forget the appraisal

“Let’s just try to not get bitten.”

The opponent also notices and draws closer.

I swing my pickaxe at it but it avoided as it moved faster than expected.

Just saying that it avoided wouldn’t be right, it coiled around the pickaxe and turned its face towards me.

“Shit!”

I let go of the pickaxe and swing the kitchen knife at his face.

I was able to cut off the head, I almost gagged because of the feeling but I stayed alert.

A few seconds after that, the movement of the centipede stopped completely.

“Ah, I forgot to appraise again.”

76 – Lysate

I picked up the dropped item and appraised it.

Centipede’s Lysate: A liquid that centipedes use to dissolve their prey.

“Scary!”

Be it the bees or the centipedes, I don’t like the insects in this dungeon.

I barely won this fight, so levelling up is a priority.

“But why is the name written horizontally sometimes…”

Maybe, this isn’t the only dungeon out there.

77 – Tree Crevice

I continued to explore but I didn’t come across any lizards or rabbits.

I sat down and observed the ceiling, which was filled with many blue dots resembling stars in the night sky.

“Really, what’s going on?”

I rested my back on the large tree and the crunching sound was heard again.

“Oh?”

I looked up at the tree cavity that I found earlier and lit it up with my headlight.

Illuminated by the light, the bats rushed out.

When it came out, it was certainly small in size, but it soon became huge.

They look exactly like the bats that I saw before.

“Meat, Get!”

78 – Bat Hunting

These are opponents who I’ve defeated many times, I was able to defeat it without any difficulty.

I felt a little stronger than before.

It rotated its body and tried to bite me.

Their attack methods are increasing.

As I looked around the trees and saw many similar crevices on the trees.

“So that’s it, this is how you look for monsters in this hierarchy.”

Understanding this, I’ll continue hunting the bats around here.

Continue hunting as it is, or return home.

The outside was already bright.

“I’m really sleepy…”

79 – I slept too much

“Hmm…”

“Oh, you woke up.”

When I came to, Aunt Okada was sitting on my veranda.

“Good morning?”

“Ha ha, its lunchtime already.”

I rubbed my sleepy eyes and looked at the time, it was already 2 o’clock.

“Ha ha, looks like I slept too much.”

“It’s okay, it’s the countryside. People after they become adults like to take things slow.”

“Well, I wonder if there are many people who would like to get out of their busy society and schedule.”

“I don’t know, the land here is cheap, that can also be a reason.”

80 – Donut

“By the way, Auntie coming here is rare, did something happen?”

I totally forgot to ask her why she was here.

Then,

“I ate the jam you gave yesterday with a donut, and it was delicious. So I came to thank you again.”

She lifted the small paper bag next to her and showed it to me.

“Because the donuts were delicious, I ended up frying a lot more than I could eat, so I came to give you a few. Please take them.”

61 – Hiratori Fruit

Hiratori Fruit: Sweet fruit growing on the Hiratori Tree.

“Hmm?”

Until now, plants were never part of the floor’s hierarchy.

It means edible plants have finally made their appearance on this layer.

One was rolling around near my feet, so if I look straight up, I see many similar nuts growing there.

“Doesn’t look like there is any poison, let’s taste it.”

I brushed off the soil and peeled off the skin. And carefully took a bite.

“Wow! Sweet!”

Because there was only one fallen, I kicked the tree to get more.

62 – Making Jam

I fit around 20 in one hand and shoved them into my pocket before checking the time.

It was 21:28, I had spent more time exploring than I realized.

Let’s end today’s exploration here.

I returned home, washed the Hiratori fruits with water, peeled them and put them in a pot.

Sprinkled sugar and stirred them over high heat.

As the water starts to boil, I use the spatula to crush the fruits.

Mixing in the dungeon’s honey and mixing again so it doesn’t boil.

The aroma is filled with sweetness, I feel happy just smelling it.

63 – Toast

I prepared another pot next to it and sterilized the jar, the lid and the spoon by boiling it.

Cool it a little after taking it out and draining it before filling it up with jam.

After confirming the lid is properly closed, I need to wait until it reaches room temperature.

I couldn’t wait for it so I made toast in the meantime.

I scooped up a little and spread it over the toast before eating it.

“Ah! This is delicious!!”

The sourness that I tasted when I only ate the fruit is gone.

I could feel it a little bit.

However, it seems I made a little too much.

I looked at the table and the ten jam filled jars that were kept on it.

64 – Greeting

After enjoying the toast, I put the now room-temperature bottles in the fridge and went to sleep.

“Hmm, I slept well!”

I did some stretching after getting up.

I take out two of the bottles that I kept in the refrigerator last night.

“No matter how delicious it is, you can’t eat it alone.”

Today I’m not going to the dungeon, I’m going next door (おすそ分け).

Just 100 metres away from the house, is another house with an orange roof.

“Good Morning! Are you home, Uncle Mitsui?”

I started with a cheerful greeting.

65 – Aunt Mitsui

“Hmm, Isn’t it Satoshi? Are you in trouble or something?”

Instead of uncle Mitsui, a skinny old grandma came out.

“Ah, Aunt, I made jam!”

As I hand it over,

“I’m quite confident in it, can you try it?”

And continue.

“Hou, thank you! I’ll gladly take it.”

Aunt took it with a smile so naturally I’m happy too.

“Well then, I’ll deliver it next to Aunt Okada!”

Let me know what you think about it, saying that I left.

66 – Aunt Okada

Both Uncle Mitsui’s house and Aunt Okada’s house lies on either side of my house so I pass by my own home as I make my way to Aunt Okada’s house.

About 50 metres away, you’ll see a house with faded roof tiles.

“Good Morning! Are you home, Aunt Okada?”

After knocking on the gate, I push open the gate as it makes a rusty sound.

I was greeted by the large spread of dirt in the front.

“Yes, yes, I’m here. Oh, it’s you.”

Did something happen? She asked gently.

“Yes, I made some jam. I gave some to Aunt Mitsui as well.”

67 – Coming Out

“Ah, thank you, thank you. But you didn’t force yourself to make it, did you? Show me your wounds!”

Wounds? I looked at my arms and legs and there were many scratches. Maybe I was cut by the grass.

“Ah, I didn’t notice them at all!”

“Be careful. You can’t take cuts lightly, ok?”

“Yes! I’ll be careful in the future!”

I should disinfect these wounds, the dungeon is underground after all.

“Such a thing can happen as well…”

She laughed at me.

She doesn’t believe it. Yes!

“This jam is also made from the honey and fruits that I got from the dungeon.”

I will explain as such.

68 – Bright Red

“Well, it’s a colour that I don’t really see very often.”

“Yeah, but it’s delicious, so tell me what you feel about it.”

“Yes, like I always say, if you need any help, come visit me.”

After saying that much, she went back in.

Lately, the tools other pouch have also gone some changes.

The pickaxe that I use as a main weapon.

Usually, I used to come home to wash it as the handle would be bright red after using it.

But now, it is always clean.

Recently, the pattern on it has been very clean and beautiful.

Part of the blade was dyed red though.

69 – Nap

If you think about it not falling off even after washing, it has to be one of the effects of the dungeon.

Other than the appearance, everything has changed.

I don’t think of it as anything bad.

Looking over the fields from the veranda, there is some empty space remaining.

I tried scattering hiratori skin on the field to use it a fertilizers.

I didn’t even think about planting so I buried the seeds as well.

“If I look at it, I’m quite free right now…”

I decided to take a rest today, so I won’t go in the dungeon.

“Should I take a nap after all this time?”

70 – Growth

I hear the sounds of the wind chimes.

“Hmmm…”

After raising my sleepy body, and I rubbed my eyes and the scenery was dyed madder red.

“Ah, I wonder if I slept too much.”

The ice in the glass had already melted.

“Yes, Lets clean up a bit!”

I noticed that I was getting rid of farm tools I had left out.

What’s this?

Next to the beautifully grown cucumber, a 5 metre tall tree was growing.

I have an idea but bit I can’t believe it.

When I knocked on it the contents were hollow.

“Are you serious…?”
